Tour of Canberra City Farm

Following the AGM, there will be a guided tour of the Canberra City Farm.

The Canberra City Farm is run by volunteers to showcase ideas and techniques for organic agriculture and sustainable living with an urban focus. Situated on Ngunnawal country, the current Canberra City Farm site was a former dairy farm and then a school for young people who needed something different to continue their schooling.

As well as community garden plots, the farm has many shared areas including a propagation area, native bird garden, the Old Dairy Farm Orchard, the New Orchard, espaliered fruit trees, a vineyard, the Feijoa Orchard and extensive vegie growing areas demonstrating the use of four crop rotation, wicking beds and no dig beds.
